K.S. Oliver is an author, poet, public speaker, model and business owner who was born in New York and raised in Georgia. She is blazing a trail that many have been inspired by. The oldest of eleven children, K.S. graduated from Georgia Medical Institute with a diploma in Medical Billing and Coding in 2005 as well as Colorado Technical College in 2011 with an a degree in Business (while minoring in Criminal Justice). Since then, she’s been moving forward with building a unique and touching legacy.
In 2014 K.S. released her first novel, FLATLINED: Almost Doesn’t Count, which was inspired by her truth. FLATLINED was ceremoniously released on the four (4) year anniversary of her diagnosis. She decided to take a leap and let the world read her rhymes of reason due to several people suggesting that she share her complete story after experiencing fragments of her memories via her poetry.
Despite the plethora of times that she’s been cut, poked, jabbed, hospitalized, and operated on K.S. is not only still standing, but she is constantly thriving. In 2011 she created her first business entity, Events by Ebonee’, which prides itself on cultivating quality, memorable events at affordable rates throughout the Atlanta area. True to her literary passion and experience, in 2014 K.S. started her own publishing company, Diamante’ Publications along with her husband , in which her star only began to shine brighter within the literary community.

Way to go Ms Oliver, I so enjoyed this book. This book brought out sooo many emotions. I never knew was a person had too endure , whilst dealing with Lupus. The author made the plot of this book vividly entertaining. I was not only informed of the many aspects of dealing with Lupus, I was totally engaged as well. I will without a doubt recommend this book, not only because the author took a real life situation and made it into a informative book, but being that I myself suffer from a chronic illness, I know how important it is to get accurate information out there. The plot, the characters, and the setting for this book has earned a rating of 5/5. This is a author that I want too here more from, and will be following her on Amazon.

I thought this was a great book! I personally never had to deal with what Kai dealt with but she was such a strong person. I enjoyed learning some things about the disease she was carrying because I had no knowledge of it. By reading this book, it shows me that things people complain about is trivial. Even though she was coping with her disease, I enjoyed how she went through the storm. There is always someone who is worse off and if they can have a positive outlook and make things work, so can you. Despite what anyone is going through, God has a plan for your life and He is not through with you yet. Yeah there may be some setbacks, but his ending plan is a sweet one.. Even if it is something to cope with. I loved how she did not let the disease control her and she was able to do so much with her life. I love how she was not a pushover and she learned how to do things on her own. I love how strong willed she was and how despite what she was going through, she was there for her kids and did all she can for them. I am glad she found happiness… The author was able to tell her story and she can now help many people who may be going through and feeling the same way Kai was and she can show, yes it does get better.

I respected this woman way before I read this book BUT the level of respect I have for this woman now is at great heights. Being a poetry writer myself, this was everything to me. My hats off to you, Ms. Lady!
