Kevin Cantwell has published poems in The Paris Review, The New Republic, Poetry, Irish Pages, and Five Points, for which he was winner of the James Dickey Poetry prize. New poems are soon to appear in Arts & Letters, Commonweal, Poetry Ireland Review, and Salmagundi. His most recent book of poems is One of Those Russian Novels. His first book of poems was printed by New Issues Press in 2009, and he has published with Mercer University Press an anthology of poets writing in Macon called Writing on Napkins at the Sunshine Club. He has a degree in philosophy from Georgia State University and a doctorate in English from the University of Utah, where he was editor of Quarterly West. He is the former president of the Georgia Writers’ Association and currently is Dean of Graduate Studies at Middle Georgia State University where he is Professor of English. He is editing a collection of letters by the American poet William Dickey and writing a play based on the life of Ulysses S. Grant.
Kevin will be conducting a workshop entitled “How, When, and Where to Submit Poetry to Magazines.”
